Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy

“When understanding why hasn’t changed what you do, it might be time to work beyond the conscious mind.”

Working beyond the conscious mind

I qualified in Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy with Atkinson-Ball in 2013 and am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR).

Hypnotherapy is one of the most powerful elements of the way I work because sometimes your conscious mind already knows the answer. You know why you people-please. Why you struggle with boundaries. Why certain relationships trigger you. Why you procrastinate, overthink or keep repeating the same behaviour.

And yet knowing hasn't changed it.

That's because not everything we do is driven by conscious thought.

The power of hypnotherapy

Clinical hypnotherapy allows us to work with subconscious beliefs, associations, emotions and learned responses that aren't always easily accessed through conversation alone.

Hypnosis isn't about losing control or somebody taking over your mind. You're still aware, you can hear me and you're able to respond. Instead, it creates a deeply focused state where we can turn down some of the usual conscious analysis and become curious about what's happening underneath it.

That's often where the really interesting work begins.

A response that seems completely irrational today may make perfect sense when we discover what your subconscious originally learned it was protecting you from.

How hypnotherapy can help

I use clinical hypnotherapy within my wider therapeutic work to help clients:

- explore long-standing beliefs and subconscious patterns

- understand emotional triggers and automatic responses

- work with fears, anxiety and avoidance

- change habits and repetitive behaviours

- strengthen confidence and self-trust

- work with protective responses and different parts of themselves

- create new emotional associations and responses

- imagine and experience different possibilities for the future

- support changes in identity and self-concept

When your mind gets it, but something else hasn't caught up.

This is where hypnotherapy becomes particularly useful for the clients I work with.

Many have already done a lot of work on themselves.

They've had therapy. They've read the books. They've analysed their childhood. They understand their patterns.

But they're frustrated because they're still repeating them.

Conscious insight is incredibly valuable, but sometimes the pattern isn't being maintained by a lack of understanding. It's being maintained by something deeper that still believes the old response is necessary.

Hypnotherapy gives us another way of communicating with that part of you.

I integrate it with psychotherapy, counselling, Parts Work, NLP and trauma and nervous-system-informed approaches, rather than treating hypnosis as a standalone technique.

We're not trying to force your subconscious to change.

We're helping it recognise that what it learned then may not be what you need now.

Your conscious mind may have understood the pattern years ago. Hypnotherapy gives us an opportunity to work with the part of you that didn't get the memo.

Mission:

My mission is to support women who have spent a lifetime holding everything together to come back into relationship with themselves.

I exist to challenge the idea that coping quietly is strength, that exhaustion is normal, and that ultra-independence is something to aspire to.

Through calm, relational and deeply human therapeutic work, I create spaces where women can slow down, soften, and safely lay down the emotional load they’ve been carrying for years.

This work isn’t about fixing women — it’s about reconnecting them with their bodies, their truth, and their sense of self beneath the roles, responsibility and constant giving.

I believe change doesn’t come from force or pressure, but from feeling safe enough to listen to yourself again.

My mission is to help end generational female burnout — by modelling a different way of living, one where women are supported, regulated, connected and no longer last on their own list.

Because when a woman is truly supported, everything else in her life shifts with her.

Ultra-independence was never meant to be the end goal.

It kept generations of women functioning —
but at the cost of rest, connection and joy.

This is the moment we stop passing down burnout
and start modelling support, softness and sustainability instead.
